School Bus Rock – 2000

During the 2000s there was a major decline in new music. Early on in the decade there was an online tool called Napster which allowed users to share files with each other on the internet. The music industry hated and squashed it as quickly as they could. Many people blame Napster for the decline in new music but I have no doubt that it was the corporations running the music industry that lead to the decline in new music.. They are all about profits and the music is just a means to an end. Today’s popular music is manufactured and formulated to appeal to the listener’s senses. That is in stark contrast to music that comes to life through the creative process that real musicians use.

There were some great bands coming out in the early 2000s but that changed in the late 2000s. Fortunately, there are still creative musicians finding a way to do their thing outside of the music industry; they are just much harder to find.
