Recently a friend made me aware of a story about a cat who spent many years hanging out at a school with the students. Its actually quite an amazing, feel good story! Animals like Room 8 demonstrate there is so much more to them than what we are led to believe.
On July 5, 2025 there was a big music event called Back to The Beginning. It was created to honour the music of Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne. Ozzy was in very poor health, but wanted to do this one last show before he retired from music. It was also, the first time since 2005 that all the original Black Sabbath members performed together.
During the 10 hour show there were many huge names in music that participated, but there was a new artist called Yungblud who really stood out from the rest. His performance of Changes, a Black Sabbath song, was simply amazing. Music can be used to convey a lot of emotion and Yungblud did just that when he sang Changes. He put his soul into the performance. There were men and women in the audience with tears rolling down from their eyes.
What makes this even more powerful is that Ozzy Osborne passed way less than 3 weeks after the show and there was a special connection between Yungblud and Ozzy.
This tune is a great way to end the school year!
This is the Christmas movie of all Christmas movies! Here is a trailer.
It wasn’t until my late 20s that I discovered this movie. I was up late on Christmas Eve watching TV when this movie came on. I had never heard of it before and even though it was an old Black & White I started watching it. It was so engrossing that I could turn it off! The end of the movie is a real tearjerker. Not because something sad happened, but because it is such a happy and inspiring ending! On top of it all, Clarence gets his wings!!!
If you’ve never seen this movie or never even heard of it then I highly recommend you watch it.
Zuzu’s Petals
There is a character in the movie called Zuzu and she is the daughter of the main character. An element in the movie is based on petals that fell off a flower. Decades later a rock band was created and they called themselves Zuzu’s Petals! Only those people who knew the movie would get the name.

In the mid-80s I used to hang out in a dance club in Welland, Ontario. They played all the New Wave and Synthpop hits of the time. One Saturday night the DJ played What a Wonderful World as the closing song of the night. People loved it and it became the closing song for every Saturday night after that. What an amazing song to end the evening with! The world would be a much more wonderful place if we had more people like Louis!
I originally heard this tune shortly after Johnny released the album American IV: The Man Comes Around. It blew me away! It wasn’t till after Cash died that I watched the video and it elevated the song to a whole new level. The lyrics combined with the visuals really triggered the emotions. Hurt is a tune from Nine Inch Nails and was written by Trent Reznor. It is about dealing with drug addiction. Johnny took those very same lyrics and made them about his life. It is hard to watch the video and listen without tearing up.
