Changes

On July 5, 2025 there was a big music event called Back to The Beginning. It was created to honour the music of Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne. Ozzy was in very poor health, but wanted to do this one last show before he retired from music. It was also, the first time since 2005 that all the original Black Sabbath members performed together.

During the 10 hour show there were many huge names in music that participated, but there was a new artist called Yungblud who really stood out from the rest. His performance of Changes, a Black Sabbath song, was simply amazing. Music can be used to convey a lot of emotion and Yungblud did just that when he sang Changes. He put his soul into the performance. There were men and women in the audience with tears rolling down from their eyes.

What makes this even more powerful is that Ozzy Osborne passed way less than 3 weeks after the show and there was a special connection between Yungblud and Ozzy.

July 22/2025

July 22/2025 has turned out to be quite the day in terms of music history.

We lost Chuck Mangione, a musician from Buffalo, NY who became well known in the 80s for his hit ‘Feels so Good’ on which he plays the Flugalhorn.

We lost George Kooymans of the Dutch band, Golden Earring. Golden Earring had two big hits in Canada with Radar Love and The Twilight Zone.

The biggest loss of all was Ozzy Osbourne. Ozzy was lead singer and cofounder of Black Sabbath. Black Sabbath is considered to be the first heavy metal band. Ozzie was also know for his solo work and the reality show, The Osbournes.

Ozzy passed only a few weeks after his last live performance at Back to The Beginning; a massive event which highlighted the music of Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne. Back to The Beginning featured many musicians that were influenced by and fans of both Ozzy and Black Sabbath. It was a very emotional show for both particpants and fans. There are videos where you see men and women with tears rolling down their faces.

Here is a video of Ozzy’s last performance of Mama I’m Coming Home at Back to The Beginning. He seemed to know he was not long for this world so it makes the performance very emotional.

There was one musician who stood out during the Back to The Beginning event. The musician, Yungblud, probably had what I think was the best performance the the show and that is saying something due to the calibre of musicians that participated. Turns out he had a very special connection with Ozzy and family. Ozzy’s wife Sharon invited Yungblud to participate and this performance shows why!!!
